Common University Entrance Test 2025- Complete details

If you want to be admitted to any of the top universities in India, CUET will be the right choice for you. Let’s look at some important pointers that every test taker should know.
- The CUET 2025 (UG) Exam will be held in May, in the last week of 2025.
- The CUET 2025 Answer Key release date will be in the last week of June 2025
- The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency in India.
- The exam can be in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Urdu.
- The pattern of the exam is MCQ with fifty questions in English, out of which you will have to solve forty.
- You will get a +5 for a correct answer, however, -1 for the wrong one.
- The exam will be conducted in 354 Cities Across India and 26 Cities Outside India.
- The questions in the English exam will be based on Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Synonyms & Antonyms, Jumbled words, etc.
- To appear for the CUET exam, a student must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the +2 examination for the general category and 45% marks for the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category.
- The exam can be pen and paper or computer-delivered.
- There is no minimum age requirement to take the CUET exam.
- There may be three shifts in a day.
- The examination will consist of three sections: languages, domain subjects, and the general test.
- The paper will take 45 minutes for the language paper and domain. Furthermore, you will be allotted 60 minutes for the general paper.
The fee will be INR 1000 for the general, INR 900 for OBC, and INR 800 for the remaining, like SC & ST.
CUET 2025 specific details:
CUET 2025: CUET 2025 application forms are expected to be available in late February 2025 on the NTA’s official website at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ or cuetug.ntaonline.in.  The exam, tentatively scheduled to start in mid-May 2025, will be conducted in a hybrid mode.

CUET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to be eligible for CUET 2025 exam must meet the following eligibility criteria.Â
Educational Qualifications:Â Candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognized board.
- General Category: A minimum of 50% marks is required in Class 12.
- SC/ST Candidates: A minimum of 45% marks is needed.
Age Limit:Â There is no age limit for candidates applying for CUET UG 2025. Students of any age can apply as long as they meet the educational qualifications.
Nationality:Â Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Number of Attempts:Â Candidates can take the CUET exam multiple times as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
University-Specific Criteria:Â Some universities may have additional eligibility requirements regarding subject combinations and minimum marks for specific courses. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of the universities they are interested in.Candidates can find detailed CUET 2025 eligibility criteria on the official websites of participating universities.
CUET 2025 Application Fees
To complete the CUET 2025 registration process, candidates must pay the application fees, which vary based on the number of subjects opted for the exam. The fees can be paid online using methods like debit card, credit card, UPI, or netbanking. It’s important to note that the CUET 2025 registration is considered incomplete until the fees are paid. CUET 2025 Syllabus
Section I:
The language section of the CUET exam evaluates candidates on their reading comprehension skills based on different types of passages, including factual, literary and narrative ones, Verbal Ability, Rearranging the Parts, Choosing the Correct Word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Vocabulary. This Language section consists of 13 languages. Please refer to the list below to know which languages are offered in the CUET exam.

Section II (Domain-Specific Subject):
In the Domain Specific Subject section, a total of 23 subjects are offered by NTA for CUET. The domain-specific subject/paper on ‘Entrepreneurship’, ‘Teaching Aptitude’, ‘Fashion Studies’, ‘Tourism’, ‘Legal Studies’ and ‘Engineering Graphics’ are discontinued. For these programs, admissions are to be made based on performance in the General Aptitude Test. Below is the list of subjects offered:
